Grindelwald-Wengen
The largest local ski area, linking Männlichen, Kleine Scheidegg, Eigergletscher and Wengen. Best for long piste days and skiers who want the widest choice of runs.
Grindelwald-First
Smaller than Grindelwald-Wengen, but exceptionally sunny. Jungfrau Railways describes First as the sunniest ski area in the Jungfrau Ski Region. It is also the local favourite for freestyle and a relaxed ski day.
Männlichen & Kleine Scheidegg
Wide pistes, impressive views and easy access from Grindelwald Terminal make this side particularly convenient for families and mixed-ability groups.
Mürren-Schilthorn
A separate ski area on the opposite side of the Jungfrau Region, with higher-altitude terrain, steeper slopes and a very different atmosphere. Worth a day trip for stronger skiers.

Where to Ski in Grindelwald
Grindelwald-Wengen
This is the main ski area for most visitors staying in Grindelwald. It connects Männlichen, Kleine Scheidegg, Eigergletscher and Wengen and offers roughly 100 km of pistes.
The terrain ranges from easy and intermediate cruising to steeper red and black runs, including skiing around the famous Lauberhorn World Cup area.

Grindelwald-First
First is smaller than Grindelwald-Wengen, with around 58 km of pistes, but that is part of its appeal. It feels more compact and relaxed and is exceptionally sunny.
Jungfrau Railways calls First the sunniest ski area in the Jungfrau Ski Region. It is a particularly good choice for a relaxed day, sunny mountain lunches, freestyle skiing and snowboarding.

Mürren-Schilthorn
Mürren-Schilthorn is not directly connected to Grindelwald's pistes, but it is included in the wider Jungfrau Ski Region and makes an excellent ski day for guests who want variety.
The area reaches almost 3,000 metres and is known for steeper slopes, high-Alpine scenery and the dramatic Schilthorn setting.

Grindelwald Terminal: Männlichen or Eigergletscher
Grindelwald Terminal is the key transport hub for the Grindelwald-Wengen ski area. From here you can take the gondola directly to Männlichen or use the Eiger Express to reach Eigergletscher.
This gives skiers two very different starting points without having to travel through the village centre first.

Heliskiing: Ebnefluh & Petersgrat
For very strong skiers and snowboarders looking for a true high-Alpine experience, Swiss Helicopter offers a guided heliski day in the Jungfrau Region.
The helicopter departs from Gsteigwiler near Interlaken and flies towards the high mountains with spectacular views of the Lauberhorn, Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau before landing in glacier terrain around the Ebnefluh.
The programme combines long off-piste descents through high-Alpine terrain with a second helicopter flight to Petersgrat and a further descent towards the Lauterbrunnen Valley.
A certified mountain guide accompanies the group. Good skiing or snowboarding ability and good physical fitness are required. This is an advanced activity rather than a normal piste excursion, and current conditions and participant requirements should always be checked before booking.

Grund – Gletscherschlucht
Grindelwald has a dedicated cross-country network between Grund and the Glacier Gorge. The official route map lists approximately 9 km for classic skiing and 10.5 km for skating, including beginner sections.
The route combines open valley sections and forest with views towards the surrounding mountains. Cross-country school, rental, parking and changing facilities are marked on the official trail map.

Grindelwald-First is the main freestyle area in Grindelwald. Jungfrau Railways operates a large halfpipe and two parks with different difficulty levels, with boxes, kickers and other features for snowboarders and freeskiers.
Combined with First's sunny exposure and compact layout, it makes a particularly good choice for riders who prefer park laps rather than spending the entire day covering a large piste network.
